At Boise Reptile Company, we’re more than just a store—we’re a family-owned hub for reptile enthusiasts, founded and run by Justin and Makena. Together, we specialize in reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, and we’re passionate about helping keepers provide the best life for their pets. Whether you’re new to the hobby or a seasoned keeper, our team is here to support you every step of the way.

Our Story

From a Ball Python to a Thriving Community!

Our journey began with a single gift: Justin’s first ball python from his aunt sparked a lifelong passion for reptiles. Throughout his childhood, Justin cared for iguanas, bearded dragons, geckos, and more, which deepened his love for the hobby. Later, Makena’s fascination with reptiles and her knack for animal care made her an equally passionate partner in this journey.

Today, we’re proud to house over 40 reptiles in our home, including a thriving gargoyle gecko breeding project that we built together.

When we’re not at the store, you’ll find us at reptile expos, watching our favorite keepers on YouTube, or visiting other local reptile shops. These experiences shaped our shared dream of starting Boise Reptile Company, where we could combine our love for reptiles and give back to the community that taught us so much.
